Our First Lady
First Lady Margo Easton
First Lady Margo Easton is the third of five children born to the late Hezekiah and Volley Brooks. She was raised in Calvert County and attended public schools there. Later in life, she studied at Fleet Business School in Annapolis, Maryland. She was the first in her family to accept God as her personal Lord and Savior in 1972 at the age of 17. She later received the Holy Ghost. This began a great hunger and thirst for the Word of God and a passion to fulfill His will for her life. The hunger and thirst have grown tremendously over the years.
She is married to Pastor Darnell Easton. They are blessed with three wonderful children, a wonderful daughter-in-law and son-in-law, and five lovely grandchildren.
Early in Margo’s walk with Christ, she learned the importance of prayer. Since that time, she has been a dedicated prayer warrior. She says “God has answered so many of my prayers for others and for me personally”. He transformed me from a quiet, shy person to a bold solider for Christ. Margo has a zeal to continue to walk with God so that he may use her wherever she may go. Her desire is to faithfully serve God, her husband, family and God’s people.
Margo assisted her husband in starting the New Members Class back in 1981, which is still a vital part of the ministry at Bethel Way of the Cross Church. Margo faithfully serves in many capacities at Bethel. She is currently President of the Missionary Board and Chairperson of the Sisterhood Ministry. She is also the Overseer of Safe Nights, as well as Vice President of the Way of the Cross National Missionary Board. Margo has received numerous honorary awards over the years. In 2014 she was the recipient of the Wind Beneath My Wings Gala Award. In 2017 she was selected to be honored in a publication of Inspiring African American Women of Calvert County sponsored by the friends of Calvert Library.
She seeks God daily for wisdom, knowledge and understanding so that she may walk in her rightful place with him. Margo’s prayer is for the people of God to walk in Unity and Love, so that we will be able to stand in the Greatness God has called us to.
