Elder Troy Chew

Discipleship Ministry Leader

Wayne "Troy" Chew was born on November 29, 1975, to Joyce Ann Wills and the late Robert Estep Chew in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. He is a native of Lothian, Maryland, and received his education in the Prince George’s County School System.

Elder Chew was baptized in Jesus’ name and filled with the precious gift of the Holy Ghost. He was groomed in Ministry as a member of Bethel Way of the Cross Church of Christ, under the guidance of the late Bishop Jacob A. Green and the late Bishop Allen H. Easton. He currently serves as an Elder under Bishop Darnell L. Easton.

He was chosen to serve on the Deacon Board and later elevated to the Ministerial Board. Elder Chew currently serves in various capacities, such as Instructor of the Discipleship Class in the Christian Education Ministry, Vice President of the Youth for Christ, Young Adult Facilitator, Care Ministry Leader, Assistant Minister of Music, Praise and Worship Team Leader, and Musician.

As a gifted musician playing multiple instruments, he was afforded the opportunity to accompany nationally known gospel artists. He performed for stage plays, was an instrument instructor, and recorded on several projects.

In 1998, Elder Chew married the best that God has created, LaTosha (a powerhouse in her own right). From this union, they were blessed with two daughters Dasia and Nevaeh, who serve the Lord gladly with them.

Professionally, Elder Chew is a manager of the Supply Chain Warehouse and Logistics for the Washington Metro Area Transit Authority.

Above all the many accomplishments listed above, Elder Chew accepted his call from the Lord to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. As a man after God’s own heart, he loves the Lord, his family, and his church. He is passionate about souls establishing a relationship with Jesus Christ that will turn their hearts to only please God.
